For America to compete against other countries, like China, it is important that we stay on top of the game as far as technology is concerned. Unfortunately, schools do not have the appropriate funding needed to do so. That's why I am so impressed with the lengths that schools are going to in order to get the technology that their students need.
Sure, fundraising can become annoying when it seems like almost every day a booklet is coming home asking you to purchase something. But-- think about where the money is going, and what it will do for your child. Do you really need another roll of wrapping paper or a snowman salt and pepper shaker? No. But your child really does need a new computer in his classroom. Or a projector. Or an overhead. Or a document camera. The list goes on and on.
Bravo to the teachers, administrators, etc. who help to raise funds in our school!
